Minocqua Brewing started with a simple idea: take the spirit of Wisconsin's Northwoods and bring it to the capital. What began as a passion project in a garage has grown into a full-scale brewery with a lineup that earns a spot on every beer lover's radar.
Every batch is brewed in-house with locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Our IPAs carry the piney resin of Wisconsin hops. Our stouts carry the depth of the northern forests. Our lagers? Crisp the way a lake breeze on a July afternoon should be.
The Madison Taproom on East Washington Ave is our home base — a place where the beer is cold, the food is solid, and the regulars know your name.

Rotating selection of core and seasonal brews. Ask your server what's pouring — the best ones move fast.
Badger State IPA
Citrus-forward and resinous. A Wisconsin-grown hop character that hits clean and finishes dry.
Northern Lights Stout
Dark chocolate, espresso, and a hint of smoked malt. Winter's answer to a warm fire.
Lake Waubesa Pilsner
Crisp, clean, and dangerously drinkable. A Czech-style pilsner that tastes like a hot day on the water.
Capitol City Sour
Tart cherry and wild yeast. Bright, funky, and meant for the porch on a summer evening.
Iron River Hazy
Juicy tropical fruit, soft mouthfeel, and zero bitterness. A New England–style hazy that's all about the drinkability.
T-Rex Red Ale
Bold, malty, and slightly toasty. A nod to Wisconsin's dinosaur heritage with a modern craft finish.

Our East Washington Avenue spot is equal parts brewery, bar, and living room. High-top tables for quick pints, booth seating for longer hangs, and a back patio that's golden hour from May through September.
The kitchen serves up bar classics done right — burgers, flatbreads, and small plates that pair as well with a pilsner as they do with a stout.
